Allen Lund Company, LLC

Carrier Manager

San Mateo, CA - Full Time

Carrier Manager

Built on Grit. Driven by People. In 1976, Allen Lund took a $1,000 gamble and opened a single freight brokerage office in Los Angeles. Nearly 50 years later, Allen Lund Company (ALC) has grown into a powerhouse with 42 nationwide offices and counting. We’ve built an unmatched industry reputation not by playing it safe, but by backing our people. We run on high energy, deep industry trust, and an open management style that encourages real personal and career growth. The result? Over half of our team has chosen to stay with us for more than a decade.

What’s in It for You?

  • Real Ownership & Rewards: Competitive base salary, aggressive bonuses, generous 401(k) matching, and actual company ownership through our ESOP.
  • Top-Tier Total Care: Benefits so good you’ll actually use them, from premium health coverage to full-scale wellness programs.
  • Uncapped Career Mobility: Hands-on leadership development and cross-country transfer opportunities across 42 locations.
  • A Culture That Recognizes Hustle: High-impact employee recognition, direct access to leadership, and a team that genuinely has your back.

The Role Logistics doesn't move without great relationships—and as Carrier Manager, you are the engine. Sitting right at the center of our operation alongside the General Manager, you won't just sit back and manage shipments; you will lead, coach, and elevate a high-performing team of Carrier Sales Reps.

You’ll act as the chief strategist for capacity, hunting down top-tier flatbed, dry, and refrigerated carriers, negotiating key lanes, and turning one-off drivers into long-term strategic partners. This is a fast-moving, high-stakes role where quick thinking, sharp negotiation, and proactive leadership directly impact our bottom line.

What You’ll Own

  • Lead & Multiply: Coach and mentor Carrier Sales Reps, turning everyday moves into masterclasses in lane strategy and deal-closing.
  • Build an Elite Network: Source, qualify, and secure high-performing truckload and LTL carriers, building deep relationships with fleet leaders to lock down target lanes.
  • Drive Bottom-Line Growth: Expand profitable volume with existing partners and relentlessly identify new capacity opportunities.
  • Solve Real-Time Challenges: Navigating logistics takes speed and grit. You'll make sharp, high-judgment decisions on the fly to keep freight moving and protect margins.
  • Set the Standard: Lead from the front, upholding our core guiding principle: Customer, Company, Office.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Logistics DNA: 3+ years of experience in freight brokerage, carrier procurement, or account management. You know the market, you know the lanes, and you know how to talk to carriers.
  • Natural Negotiator: Proven ability to build trust, navigate high-pressure conversations, and win mutually profitable deals.
  • Leader & Coach: High energy, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for seeing your team succeed.
  • Decisive Under Pressure: You thrive when the pace picks up and can solve complex supply chain puzzles without breaking a sweat.
  • College degree or equivalent real-world industry experience preferred.
Salary: $65K–$70K
